Drinkwell 360 pet fountain does anyone have one?

I was wondering if anyone has the Drinkwell 360 pet fountain? If so can you run the fountain without the filter or can the filter be refilled with charcoal that you use for aquariums? On the box it says the filter need to be replaced at least once every two weeks and they are just so expensive but they appear to be made from material that could be refilled with the charcoal you use for your aquarium.

I was very excited to get this fountain for my cat. She loved it. It worked about 6 weeks. The motor runs, but the water doesn't run. This is my third Drinkwell product....no more!!

Which is better a solar water fountain or one that plugs in??

I am looking to buy a water fountain. I have seen both solar one and the kind that plug in.........which works better or is a better water fountain. Thanks.

If you decide to get a solar fountain make sure it is one that stores the energy so that it still runs when cloudy.

I would recommend a fountain that uses an electric outlet. Fountains don't use that much electricity to begin with and your options in style are greater with fountains with cords.

You can easily hide any electric cord in your landscaping or patio.

What is a premium canned cat food that ISN"T pate?

I feed my 2 cats Newman's own organics dry adult cat food.They drink freely from a Platinum Drinkwell water fountain,bottled water.However, I like to treat them once or twice a week with a canned cat food split between the two.They are rescues. A 4&1/2 Norwegian Forest cat mix...15&1/2 lbs. & a 3&1/2 year old mackeral tabby..10 lbs.
They were just to the vet for their yearly checkups & shots & were fine,but the Wegie had a little tarter buildup.I groom them constantly as the Wegie throws up hairballs & they won't take ANY hairball formula.The cooler than normal summer made both of them shed all season long,which is odd for WI weather.
I went to a specialty pet food store & what they thought wasn't pate was.Neither cat will eat any in pate form so I've been buying Fancy feast elegant Medleys. ANY HELP?

Wellness makes a pouch food that is slices in broth. Weruva is shredded chicken (and some are fish). Merrick (not the Before Grain) makes a chuncky (sort of) food in lots of flavors, and all of them are very popular here. Blue Buffalo Healthy Selects is very similar to the elagant Medleys but much better ingredients. Halo makes one that looks a lot like human stew - mine won't touch it but lots of people claim their cats love it. Try some of these - they are all premium foods, no by products in any of them. Easiest to find will be the Wellness pouches and the Blue Buffalo. Merrick is at many of the smaller chain or private pet stores, but the Weruva can be tough to find.

What type of pet fountain works best?

I've read all of the other questions & answers about the fountains but I still can't decide on which one to get!

I have the petmate one and I haven't been all that thrilled with it. It gets stopped up frequently and is rather loud.
